Netherlands Open Air Museum

They didn't have any television, and their mode of transportation was horse-drawn carriage. People slept in a box bed and only took a bath once a week. You will meet friendly farmers and farmer's wives in the Open Air Museum, along with the boss of the laundry, the village carriage maker, the blacksmith, the fisher and the miller. They will tell you everything, and you can look around everywhere.

Do it yourself

An authentic tram takes you around the huge museum park. The antique tram is driven by a real live tram driver, and the conductor punches your ticket. Something you should know is that the Open Air Museum is not only a museum where you can look, it's one where you can also do everything yourself. Have fun climbing and scrambling around the old-fashioned playground, walk on stilts, play with a hoop, or race with a genuine flying Dutchman on the charming Zaan square. And how about trying your hand at making paper, or helping with the washing at the old laundry?

HollandRama

Something else you simply must not miss is HollandRama. The mysterious copper egg at the entrance conceals, get ready for this, a time machine! Go on, let yourself be surprised, and take a trip back in time. Are you a full-fledged sleuth? Go on a search through the park using one of the free maps available from the information desk.
