Castle Doorwerth

This castle is magnificently situated on the washlands of the River Rhine, on the edge of the Veluwe. The castle grew from 1280 into an impressive complex of buildings with a main stronghold and gateway. The castle was badly damaged during the Second World War but has since been restored to the original mighty stronghold it once was. In the castle you find splendidly furnished rooms, an exhibition about the history of native forestry, the Veluwezoom Museum and the Dutch Museum for Hunting.
