Wissel Animal Park
The Dierenpark Wissel animal park is home to a wide variety of animals. Sometimes you have to look really hard to find them.
For example, the little pandas love to climb high up in the trees to get the perfect sunbathing spot. And the otters zip through the water like lighting.
A special place for everyone
A stream running through the park has created small islands and areas, thus creating a place for every type of animal with lots and lots of greenery. The storks have their own swamp, and the penguins have a pool where they can swim around to their heart's content. The dwarf hippo isn't so keen on swimming; the water is too cold for his tastes. He prefers the warm water that his keepers use to bathe him every day. They use a sprinkler to make sure his skin stays nice and wet.Unusual animals
There are also unusual and rare animals living in Dierenpark Wissel. Have you ever seen a guinea pig that is three times as big as a cat? Or a monkey as small as a hamster? One of the other monkeys here has a huge, very handsome handlebar moustache.Playing, sleuthing, looking, learning
You can have fun climbing and spinning around in the playground. Won't you join in the yummy-hunt? The signs in the park give you all sorts of lip-smacking information, such as what the parrots love to eat, and how much herring a penguin can eat in one day. If you answer all of the questions in the yummy-hunt correctly, you could win a prize.Want to transform into your favourite animal? Get your face painted! Are you a tiger, or a bear? If you get tired from walking around, why not visit the puppet theatre? There you will meet a meerkat by the name of Stokkie Stokstaart and see what kind of crazy adventures he gets into. Do you know what a red mouse with lots of air in his tummy looks like? Go have a look at the balloon sculptures!
