Apenheul Primate Park
You've never seen so many free roaming monkeys!
Is there anything better than a zoo full of monkeys? Nowhere else in the world you will find so many different species living together.. In Apenheul, the world famous primate park in Apeldoorn, more than 200 primates roam freely amongst the visitors! In the beautiful forest they run and climb in the trees above you or suddenly stand right in front of you! This day out is truly a special and unique experience.
Discover, experience and enjoy
You will meet the monkeys and a range of other animals in the natural setting of large exhibits. Most species live in groups and live their lives very much as they would do in the wild. You will be able to experience differently themed areas, such as the Madagascar forest with the fascinating lemurs. You will have surprising encounters with them as they cross your path or forage in the trees above you. On the Monkey Tree Walk, where curious squirrel monkeys will follow your progress, Apenheul takes you through the higher levels of the Amazon rainforest. The rocky and exotic Atlas Mountain area is home for a group of free ranging Barbary macaques, and you can go on an exciting expedition into the heart of South-America, a forest full of the very quick and very popular squirrel monkeys. And when your children need a change from looking at the monkeys, they can go and climb around themselves in different children play jungles!
